Hyundai Mobis batteries: common questions
Is the Mobis battery the same as the one my car came with?
It is the genuine replacement for it. The factory battery and the Mobis replacement are specified by the same group, though the actual manufacturer can differ from batch to batch. What stays the same is the size, capacity and technology for your model.
My Kia has idle stop and go. Which Mobis battery does it need?
The AGM one. Cars with idle stop and go are built with an AGM battery and a sensor that expects it. A CMF battery in its place will be overworked and may trigger a battery warning. We check the original label during the test to confirm before fitting.
Can a Mobis battery go in a car that is not a Hyundai or Kia?
Physically, sometimes. Many Japanese cars share the same case sizes. But there is rarely a reason to choose a genuine Hyundai part for another make. An aftermarket battery such as Solite or Sebang in the same size is the more logical route, and we will point you to it.
