Paint when needed
If the scratch is through the colour, the car goes to the partner workshop for a spot or panel repaint and comes back to your building when it has cured.
Good to know in JBR

Scratch repair: common questions
How do I tell if a scratch will polish out?
Run a fingernail across it. If the nail glides over, the scratch is in the clear coat and will usually polish out or become very hard to see. If the nail catches, or you can see grey primer or bare metal, it needs paint.
Do scratch repair pens and toothpaste work?
Toothpaste is a mild abrasive and can dull the area around the scratch. Colour pens fill a chip so it is less visible and keep water off bare metal, but they rarely make a line disappear. For a result you cannot see, the panel needs polishing or paint.
Is it worth fixing a scratch that has reached the metal?
Yes, and soon. Bare steel in salty, humid air near the beach starts to rust, and rust spreads under the surrounding paint. Aluminium and plastic panels do not rust the same way, but the paint around the damage can still lift.
