What a Mitsubishi needs from its battery

A lot of the Mitsubishis on Dubai roads are no longer young. Pajero production ended in 2021 and many Lancers are well past ten years old. On cars of that age the battery is only part of the story. Corroded terminals, a tired earth strap or a weak alternator will kill a new battery within months, so the technician checks charging voltage with the engine running before and after the swap and cleans the clamps properly.

Newer models such as the latest Outlander carry more electronics and should get the same type and rating that came out, which is printed on the label. My Pajero is over ten years old. Should the alternator be checked with the battery?

Yes, and it is part of every visit. With the engine running the technician reads the charging voltage at the battery. If it is too low or too high, a new battery alone will not last, and you will be told before anything is fitted.

Can I fit a bigger battery to my Mitsubishi for more reserve?

Sometimes. It depends on the tray, the hold-down bracket and the cable length. If a higher-capacity battery in the same case size exists, it is a sensible choice for Dubai. A physically larger case that does not clamp down firmly is not, because vibration shortens its life.

How fast can you reach me in JBR?

Do you change the battery where the car is parked?

How do I know I need a new battery and not just a jump start?

We test before selling anything. If the battery is healthy but drained, a jump start and a proper drive will do. If the test shows it can no longer hold charge or deliver cranking power, it needs replacing.
