Changan fits engine start-stop to many of its turbocharged models, including much of the CS and UNI range. Those cars need an EFB or AGM battery. A plain flooded battery will crank the engine on day one but will not last long with repeated restarts, and the car may disable start-stop when it senses the weaker battery. Check the label on the old battery. The technician matches the technology, size and terminal layout, not just the brand.
The battery is under the bonnet on the Changan models commonly seen in Dubai, and access is straightforward. A new battery does not normally need coding with a diagnostic tool. What these cars do have is a lot of electronics: wide screens, cameras and driver aids that all run on the 12V battery. A memory saver keeps the settings during the change, and a quick check for an unusual drain is worth doing if a battery has died young.
