Peugeots are sensitive about how the battery is disconnected. The car's central body computer, the BSI, needs a few minutes with the ignition off and the doors shut to power down before the terminal comes off. Rush it and you can end up with odd faults: wipers, windows or warning lights behaving strangely. The technician follows that routine, uses a memory saver where suitable, and reinitialises the one-touch windows and sunroof afterwards.
Many recent models such as the 208, 2008, 3008 and 5008 come with Stop & Start, and with it an EFB or AGM battery and a charge sensor on the negative terminal. The replacement has to be the same technology and capacity. The sensor does not usually need coding, but the car should be left locked for a few hours so it can measure the new battery. Until then Stop & Start may stay switched off. That is normal.
